WHAT YOU WILL DO AS Software Engineer

You will work in a dynamic engineering team where innovation and practicality go hand in hand.
As a Software Engineer at UMS, you contribute to the design, development and maintenance of software applications that support our systems.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing high-quality software applications following industrial standards and best practices
  • Working with cross-functional teams to create solutions that meet technical and operational requirements
  • Writing clean, efficient and well-structured code
  • Developing unit and integration tests to safeguard software quality and functionality
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to the continuous improvement of the development process
  • Staying up to date with new trends, technologies and methods in software engineering

WHO YOU ARE AS Software Engineer

To be successful in this role, you have:

  • Experience in software development & engineering (required)
  • A solid technical background in automotive or related sectors, with interest in EV systems, heavy-duty vehicles or industrial equipment
  • Experience with software/hardware integration and system interfaces within EV systems
  • Familiarity with CAN communication, C/C++, CodeSys, embedded software or Matlab/Simulink
  • Basic knowledge of ISO26262, ISO9001, HV safety or functional safety is a plus
  • Excellent command of English (Dutch is a plus)
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for innovation and adaptability when working with new technologies
